War - Band Mesa Concert reviews
Good, but not great..
I expected to be wowed by the depth of the sound at a live performance, having not been to many orchestra performances. Maybe arenas just don't have very good acoustics as it didn't sound any different than watching a movie - in fact, many times I caught myself watching the clips on the screen having completely forgotten that there was an orchestra below. I think that would have been the climax of the show and probably would have made it much better. From all the event promotions, I also expected a much bigger screen than what it ended up being. Is it just me or did anyone else feel like Anthony Daniels' lines were way dumbed down for the kids? He did a superb job with his role, but I almost felt bad for him delivering such corny juvenile dialogue. And I was very disappointed that the pyrotechnics were cancelled at the evening performance. But not nearly worth $55 per ticket (total with all the fees and taxes), overall it was a good performance.
